Com Calma is a six-song project that traces the emotional arc of relationships and inner growth through the language of tarraxinha, Afrobeat, and Urban sounds. It is meant to be experienced as a journey from softness and vulnerability into movement, release, and a darker, dirtier edge.
The album opens with two tarraxa/tarraxinha inspired songs, “Tá Doer” and “Fique Comigo.” Both are sensual and sad, intimate love songs rooted in my own personal experiences. They live in that space where longing, closeness, and heartbreak all exist at the same time, the kind of tracks you feel in your chest as much as in your body when you dance. On many of the songs across Com Calma I wrote the lyrics myself as well as shaped the music, which made this project especially personal and intentional for me.
As the album progresses, the energy rises. The middle of Com Calma leans into Afrobeat driven rhythms with Fala, with more forward momentum, brighter grooves, and tracks that invite you to move, sweat, and let go. This section is where the project opens out from introspective, close-embrace energy into something more expansive and powerful, while still staying grounded in emotion and musicality.
The journey closes with the title song, Com Calma, a tarraxo inspired track that brings in a dirtier, heavier feeling, the kind of sound that hits late at night when the lights are low and the vibe turns more primal. By the end of the album, you have moved through tenderness, pain, desire, joy, and raw release. Com Calma is designed to be danced to from start to finish, but it is also an invitation to sit with your own stories of love, loss, and connection.
This album represents my evolution not only as a DJ and producer but also as a writer who is willing to put real feelings into words and melody. Com Calma is for anyone who loves Afro sounds with heart, and who believes that music can hold both our softness and our strength at the same time.
